- Underwater reconnaissance and expert survey of dam structures
At the end of 2014, Hydrokarst was entrusted by SHEM with performing reconnaissance on the water inlet structures of the Marèges dam, located in Corrèze. For SHEM, the primary objective was to install a packer to block the bottom outlet, in order to replace the sliding valve and butterfly valve.
Prior inspection by ROV enabled us to carry out an initial survey and showed that access to the bottom outlet valves had become impossible due to the accumulation of debris. A vast grappling operation was therefore undertaken, removing over 200 tonnes of debris.
The subsequent work was then carried out by deep water divers.
